National Foundation for Giving Voice

Aims and Principles

Aims:

  1. To promote and facilitate greater understanding about the part that song can play in life, at an individual, professional, community and organisational level
  2. To promote Giving Voice and make it more accessible to more people, e.g. through events, publications, recordings and partnerships
  3. To offer training, supervision and support for people using Giving Voice at an individual, professional, community and organisational level

Principles:

  1. The qualification for contributing to the development of the Foundation is the desire to do so, and to abide by its aims and principles. The nature of that contribution may vary according to the individual's developmental process.
  2. The individual, GV groups and the Foundation share a dynamic process of development.
  3. Each individual joins the Foundation as a result of a personal decision to support it and its principles, and is free to reverse that decision at any time.
  4. The Foundation aims to be fully inclusive and to promote equality and respect for all.
  5. As the Foundation develops (see item 2), these principles may change.
