Giving Voice for Peace

Giving Voice for Peace (GV f P) is a non-profit-making initiative founded after September 11 th 2001. It's dedicated to promoting peace through song. Anyone can be involved, regardless of where they live or their perceived singing capacity. The only criterion is a desire to promote peace.

Following riots in Bradford in the summer of 2001, a number of people in Yorkshire who had been using 'Giving Voice' as a tool to promote change, started to use and develop what they'd been learning to effect positive changes in Bradford itself. Then September 11 th came along . and what we'd been doing in Bradford developed into GV fPeace. People now take part all over the UK.

"For me GVfP has an impact on my life that is like the ripple-effect from dropping a stone in a pool. My life is gradually being transformed, and the wonderful thing is that others are also noticing the change in me. I am beginning to "be" with others in a different way, and I feel so much happier, which is what my colleagues are noticing. I think that the "knock-on" effect of GVfP is that we communicate better, we're building our trust for one another and we're happier ... the ripple effect." (NFGV member)
